Optimizing Management Practices under Straw Regimes for Global Sustainable Agricultural Production

چکیده
Straw input is a helpful approach that potentially improves soil fertility and crop yield to ensure food security protect the ecological environment. Nevertheless, unreasonable straw results in massive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, leading climate change global warming. To explore optimum combination of management practices for achieving green agricultural production, worldwide data set was created using 3452 comparisons from 323 publications meta-analysis method. Overall, increased carbon nitrogen components as compared with no input. Additionally, significantly boosted use efficiency (NUE) by 8.86% 22.72%, respectively, low fertilizer rate benefiting most. The cumulative dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions 24.81%, 79.30%, 28.31%, when added. Global warming potential (GWP) emission intensity (GHGI) application straw, whereas net (NGWP) decreased owing sequestration. Low rate, mulching, C/N ratio > 30, long-term input, no-tillage combined all result lower GHG emissions. GWP GHGI were strongly related area-scaled CH4 but relationship N2O weak. during non-rice season most important measure reducing paddy–upland fields. An strategy coupled local conditions can help mitigation while also promoting sustainable production.

Global fishery prospects under contrasting management regimes.
Data from 4,713 fisheries worldwide, representing 78% of global reported fish catch, are analyzed to estimate the status, trends, and benefits of alternative approaches to recovering depleted fisheries. For each fishery, we estimate current biological status and forecast the impacts of contrasting management regimes on catch, profit, and biomass of fish in the sea. We estimate unique recovery t...

The recent intensification of agriculture, and the prospects of future intensification, will have major detrimental impacts on the nonagricultural terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of the world. The doubling of agricultural food production during the past 35 years was associated with a 6.87-fold increase in nitrogen fertilization, a 3.48-fold increase in phosphorus fertilization, a 1.68-fold i...
